Creating Jobs and Livelihoods through Upcycling Vinyl Waste Project
The project transforms old advertising billboards into practical products such as bags and household items, thereby supporting community income generation. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with partners across multiple regions, including the Nonthaburi Shelter for Homeless People, Thung Setthi Community Enterprise in Khon Kaen, Pa Pao Thong Village in Udon Thani, and Srinakharinwirot University.
Quantitative and Social Benefits
- Waste Reduction: Diverted more than 23,668 sq.m. of vinyl waste from landfills annually
- Job Creation: Generated supplementary income for disadvantaged groups, the elderly, and community households
- Value Creation: Upcycled vinyl into products such as bags, fabric totes, and document cases, sold at affordable prices
- Sustainability: Promoted the principles of the Circular Economy and Eco-Design
