TALKABLE BUS SHELTER Project

In 2024, Plan B continued to strengthen its community engagement efforts through the “Talkable Bus Shelter” initiative, aimed at promoting equality in access to public services for the visually impaired. The project was launched in collaboration with FWD Life Insurance and integrates smart voice technology with innovative bus shelter design.

A total of 10 Talkable Bus Shelters have been installed across Bangkok at key locations, including the Bangkok School for the Blind, Ramathibodi Hospital, CentralWorld, and Chatuchak Park, covering 46 major bus routes.

Social Benefits

  • Social Benefits: Equal access to mobility: Enables visually impaired individuals to identify bus numbers accurately, reducing missed journeys and enhancing safety in public transportation.
  • Improved quality of life: Provides easier access to workplaces, schools, and public services, fostering independence and dignity.
  • Inclusive society: Promotes the concept of Universal Design, encouraging a culture of inclusivity, mutual support, and respect for diversity.

Business Benefits

  • Enhanced media value: By integrating technology and accessibility features, bus shelters become more distinctive and attractive compared to conventional media, increasing occupancy rates and enabling premium pricing (5–10% higher than standard shelters).
  • Integrated CSR into core business: The tangible social impact of this project reduces the need for separate high-cost CSR programs, lowering community engagement costs while improving ROI.
  • Attracting ESG-driven clients: Brands in banking, insurance, and consumer goods sectors increasingly seek ESG-linked campaigns. The project provides a strong social impact platform that appeals to these clients, expanding the Company’s customer base and revenues.
  • Reinforced corporate reputation: Strengthens Plan B’s position as a CSR leader, enhancing brand equity, goodwill, and credibility with business partners and investors, potentially contributing to long-term company valuation.
  • Community and stakeholder engagement: Collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities builds stronger strategic relationships and a solid Social License to Operate.
  • Sustainability alignment: Directly supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), making it a valuable addition to ESG reporting and sustainable investment positioning.

Encouraged by the outstanding feedback from its first year, Plan B plans to continue expanding and enhancing the “Talkable Bus Shelter” innovation to increase service coverage. This reinforces the Company’s commitment to being an integral part of building a society where everyone can live to their fullest potential.
